Negative Temperature (NTC) Thermistors


NIC Components is pleased to announce the expansion of surface mount negative temperature thermistors with the NST series.

NST continues the expansion of surface mount construction with the availability of 3 standard sizes. Now available in standard 0402 (1.0 x 0.5mm), 0603 (1.6 x 0.8mm), and 0805 (2.0 x 1.25mm) chip sizes with special sizes available down to 0201 (0.6 x 0.3mm). Resistance values range from 22Ω ~ 680KΩ in ±1% (F), ±3% (H), ±5% (J), and ±10% (K) tolerances.

The NST series offers these NTC characteristics in operating ranges of +25°C to +50°C, +25°C to +85°C, and +25°C to +100°C. Beta values range from 3380 ~ 4400 in ±1% (F) and ±3% (H) tolerances. A single beta range vs. resistance value is offered for ease in component selection. Customized beta values from the NCT series offer the ability to select your beta value.

Negative temperature coefficient (NTC) chip thermistors decrease in resistance with increases in operating temperature and increase resistance with decreasing temperature. They are produced from high purity combinations of metallic oxides allowing small sizes, tight resistance tolerances, and fast response to temperature variations. NIC SMT thermistors are ideal for precise temperature sensing and compensation.

These thermistors are ideal for use in current sensing applications of battery packs, audio equipment, chargers & adapters, thermal printers, and temperature controller circuits.
